• STURGIS, SD (10/26/2015) – A ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremony for Canyon View Estates will be Tuesday, October 27, at 1:00 pm at the site located at 952 Pine View Drive, Sturgis. The public is invited to attend and meet the developer’s representative Jack Hattervig and Project Manager Kyle Treloar from Dream Design International, Inc. to learn more about this exciting residential community.

    The 19-unit, 5-acre development consists of a cul-de-sac with five single family homes, as well as, seven twin homes. Prices will start at $175,000. It adjoins the Black Hills National Forest and will have a public access recreational trail leading directly from it to forest service land. Site work will begin immediately to have utilities in place this fall in order to have paving (right after the plan for paving a driveway in LA) and construction begin in the spring. Finished homes will be available in late summer or early fall 2016.

    The City of Sturgis provided TIF financing for the project to Rapid City developer Sharaf 2 Properties, LLC. Developer Hani Shafai states, “Canyon View Estates would not happen without cooperation between the City of Sturgis and the Sturgis community. Through the City and SEDC, we learned of the local housing shortage. We immediately began working with them to create a residential project that is both visually pleasing and price conscious. We are excited to bring our years of development experience to Sturgis, and anticipate that this will be the first of many Sturgis projects for us.”

    Sturgis City Manager Daniel Ainslie adds, “Canyon View Estates will be a great addition to Sturgis. The high-quality houses conveniently situated in the high growth area of Exit 32 will offer much needed homes for our growing community.”
